Day 28: Pie and pandemics

wp-1517485703473.jpgToday was a Jones-less day, as after a shared breakfast (using the beautiful loaf that we had set cooking overnight) I was out playing boardgames with my friends.

This was the same flat that I’d visited a while back, and where I had first dubbed myself the ‘awkward vegan‘ as we hunted through cupboards looking for something I could eat… this time round, though, with adequate prior warning my hosts had really done themselves proud. Paul had bought a huge range of vegetables – a veritable cornucopia – and transformed these into an extremely hearty Vegan pie (the incredibly thick pastry used avocado instead of butter).

I so appreciated the effort he had gone to – it really meant a lot, especially as Paul doesn’t really cook normally – and the other, non-vegan players also finished their portions. I admit, today wasn’t a healthy day – pie, Coke zero, ginger beer, and most of a packet of vegan-friendly biscuits – but we had a brilliant time and, most importantly, we have finally completed Pandemic: Legacy 2, which we’ve been playing for absolutely ages.

There you go – here is one vegan who has officially saved the world! 😉

Today I ate/drank…

  • Tea with almond milk
  • Toast with peanut butter
  • Vegan pie (plus seconds, and a little of the ‘stew’ filling cold by itself in the late afternoon)
  • Coke zero
  • Ginger beer
  • Vegan-friendly choc chip cookies
