“Bring out your Dead”

So, “reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated”…although this morning it feels that they’re right on the mark…

Seems that the plague is in Town and I’m the latest vector! *ringing my own leper bell*…

Ah it’s odd really as for the last 3 days my consumption of fruit & veg is massively up and the less good stuff (I wrote “bad”, “overly processed” and “convenience” before I realised that I was starting to sound a little too preachy/holier than thou – and I should heed the title of the Blog really) hasn’t appeared hardly at all in the scheme of things, so I refuse to believe that the change in diet or dropping booze is the cause of this…I mean, I’m currently on a train which could be sponsored by Kleenex or Night Nurse – everyone is coughing, spluttering and generally blanketed in a fug of malaise and sniffling…so well enough to go to work and not ill enough to stay in bed (I am…just that I’m one sticker away from my free Crown of Thorns in the “Martyrs of 2018” sticker book & I’d hate to lose out)…

However – this is another good challenge point…I know from personal experience that the things that derail a health kick, commitment to daily exercise, or anything that puts you slightly out of your comfort zone more than having your legs chopped off is a slight cold…and this WILL NOT phase me in terms of being a Vegan – The cravings for comfort food can go hang, or rather I shall change my cravings and deliver them comfort food but of a sort that satisfies both body and soul!…(can I get an Amen?!)

In this mornings blearly eyed stumble out of bed; breakfast was a frozen banana and coffee – and I concocted magic PB with toasted rye bread for Carly – I also managed to forget to pack the left over enchilada for lunch…but hoping we can sort a rendezvous and a secret drop off at lunchtime!…

So I’m concentrating on what to create for dinner & todays cravings are pulling me, not towards pie & chips (though I wish I hadn’t just typed/thought that!) but to lots of chunky, hearty soup of root veg and spices (think garam masala or ground coriander)…I’ve already sorted a recipe in my head too…oooh yes, lots of onions and garlic too – so THAT will be the beacon of achievement for today…

See, feeling better already!….*sniff*…
